… a family man …
BORIS was the archetypal old faithful Labrador. He loved ‘his’ children and did what ever he could to make them happy and feel secure – played ball, swam in the river, and barked at the postman. He was softly spoken but had a large character.
So, although an unusual request, it was not entirely a surprise when part of the extended family approached Sioban to paint a portrait of Boris. This was to be a twenty-fifth wedding anniversary present for his owners Roger & Bev.
The only snag was that Boris had passed earlier that year. Fortunately Sioban had been lucky enough to meet the dog on a couple of occasions, and was able to work from some photos which were sneaked out of the house. The unusual but much loved anniversary gift was delivered at a big family party, very fitting as Boris would have loved being the centre of attention!
