… a clucking good collection….
This collection comprises of four individual portraits. Commissioned to paint a chicken for a birthday present, Sioban took flight to her friends who keep a wonderful chicken empire.
They have barren battery chickens that go broody, collecting anything up to eighteen eggs … and still manage to rear two or three MISCREANT chicks.
There are at least two cockerels at any one time … sometimes more. The COCK STAR is one called Henry … who really does rule the roost (when the ladies allow him!). But the others sometimes have to be COCK SURE … or fleet of foot if they are going to challenge him.
However, when the ladies gather for a HEN PARTY, you can be sure they have the whole situation weighed up …
