URBAN BIRDMAN

1976

This piece is available for purchase.

… will he fly … or will he fall …

URBAN BIRDMAN is a sad incapable hero. He looks the part. He wants to lead – he wants to fly … but the chances are he will remain in this posture forever.

He was my first bronze. An adventure in casting, his head was cast directly from a cock pheasant skull. This radical approach is a measure of the spirit of casting that mentor John Huggins imbued.

He is a bird full of anomalies …
