… AN ETCHING DAY @ THE MUSE …

NOVEMBER

... last ones for this year ...

Saturday November 7th
Friday November 20th
Saturday November 21st
Friday November 27th

Fee for the day: £60 + plus etching plates and paper @ cost

Try your hand at the ancient art of etching. Using the drawing-based technique of ‘soft ground’, you will produce a complete print in a day.

Bring some reference material, sketches or photos to work from; there will be lots of stimulation and thought so prepare to be flexible with your plans on the day! Previous experience or drawing ability is welcome, but entirely superfluous.

We provide all the materials and as many prepared copper plates and paper as you can use are available at cost. You will be working with chemicals, (Ferric Chloride, Citric Acid and Vinegar), parafin & printing inks. Please wear appropriate clothing. Goggles and gloves will be provided.

Please bring your own lunch; we will eat together in the gallery. In between times we shall keep you liberally stoked up with tea, coffee, cold drinks and biscuits!

We need at least 4, and no more than 5 people to run each course. The full course fee or a deposit of £20 will be required when booking your place.
