Arlington Arts Centre, in conjunction with the West Berkshire and North Hampshire Open Studios Scheme are hosting an exciting and stimulation exhibition celebrating the rich diversity of work that is shown throughout the region.

Sioban will have a collection of her etchings on show as part of this years exhibition.

ETCHING TASTER AT THE MUSE

Friday 8th May - 9am to 5pm

Try your hand at the ancient art of etching. Using the drawing-based technique of 'soft ground', you will produce a complete print in a day, which embodies all the tonal qualities of this evocative and atmospheric medium.

You will be using copper plates, chemicals and printing inks so please wear appropriate clothing, but goggles and gloves will be provided.

Tea, coffee and biscuits will be provided but please bring your own lunch.

The exhibition is being run in conjunction with the Bath Jazz Festival. Sioban will be showing new bronzes in her popular 'shoe range' which will have a musical lilt to them!

But to celebrate the Jazz Festival there will be an invitation only party at the gallery on Friday, May 22nd called 'Art and all that Jazz'. Multi-talented sculptor John Huggins and associate will be featured, both playing 1950's Jazz guitars. They will perform for a few hours after about 5.00pm

With just a hint of nepotism, this group show at Chapel Row Gallery, Bath, pulls together spectacular new work from five artists inspired by their rural surroundings.

Sioban Coppinger, long time creative friend accompanies the siblings with her world renowned bronze sculptures which manipulate the natural to create witty and beautiful forms.

Melissa Cole, internationally recognised artist blacksmith and director of the Puthall Park Sculpture Show, shows her new work alongside Sister Rebecca Cole-Coker's mixed media botanical drawings.

The sisters are joined by photographer Mark Somerville who exhibits a new collection of ethereal landscape images, and his sister Liz Somerville, printmaker who has created a series of sensitive land and seascapes.

SCULPTURE IN PARADISE 2009

Friday 26th June through to Thursday 23rd July

The Chichester Festivities will take place this year in and around the beautiful setting of Chichester Cathedral. Events include concerts, plays, talks, exhibitions and much more ...

The sculpture exhibition, as in previous years will be mounted in the beautiful grassed area of the cloisters known as Paradise. On one side of this area is the Cathedral itself and on the other three sides the gothic tracery of the cloisters. Paradise is entered through a gate in the cloisters!

During past years, exhibitions have included work by Lynn Chadwick, Elisabeth Frink, Ann Christopher, William Turnbull and Philip Jackson amongst many others.
