An infamous character from the Lambourn Valley.
I met 'WHISKERS' early in my life in Lambourn. It was wonderful to meet a local legend: Farm manager to one of the larger estates; vintage motorbike sprinter; wine collector; and wise man full of local and land knowledge, to boot.
As soon as I opened my mouth I realised that he was known as 'whiskers' to only a few ... and this was definitely not a way to address him at our first meeting!
Fortunately, neither of us seemed daunted by this faux pas ... and we became firm friends thereafter.
These two etchings are part of a run of work about 'Mr B' - a remarkable man with a fascinating face.
